Dr. Ortiz Guillén has over 17 years of experience in providing psychotherapy to individuals, couples, and groups. She earned a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Washington State University. She completed her clinical internship at the University of California Irvine. She worked as a Staff Psychologist at the University of California Berkeley, she served as Staff, mentor, and committee member to diverse student-related organizations and scholarships. She served as Clinical Supervisor to Pre-Doctoral and MA's students. She has worked as a Community Consultant with local organizations and has maintained a private practice for the past 12 years.
Dr. Ortiz Guillén was born to migrant Mexican parents and grew up in Southern CA. Her life and career trajectory has been supported and influenced by a myriad of teachers including her parents, educational teachers, professors, mentors, as well as traditional healers from various walks of life including Buddhism, Curanderismo, Santeria, and Shamanism. She is a member of The Association for Comprehensive Energy Psychology (ACEP) where she completed their Comprehensive Energy Psychology and Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT/"tapping) trainings. Other energy modalities include mindfulness-based practices, somatic experiencing, Logosynthesis, Ask and Receive, The Reconnection, and she is a Reiki Master in the Usui System of Natural Healing (Usui Shiki Ryoho tradition). Thus, her own Self-discovery process has been integrative of these various healing modalities and influences her holistic practice. |
